calm before the storm

I was lucky enough to have a small getaway to the coast with Walking Bear a weekend or so ago (which I really needed). He kindly secured us a ride over to Shackleford Banks to see the wild horses, do some cleanup, and forage a bit. We spent the day meandering about and just generally soaking up the energies around us.

I tucked away quite a few shells for my little fae godson and a beautiful heron? egret? leg for myself (still figuring it). We found an amazing spot and I was gifted with a sampling of Walking Bear’s song, a beautiful thing to witness as we pattered about beachcombing. The atmosphere near the ocean is always something awesome. Later in, we were caught in a storm and I got to frolic a bit in the water… perfect daytripping.
